Both the women and men of E&O took action at home in Emmen on Saturday evening. This happened with varying degrees of success.
The handball players of Misker E&O won their first competition match in the Premier League against PSV last weekend. For a long time, the women seemed to be booking their second victory in a row against DSVD from Deurningen in front of about two hundred spectators in the Angelslo sports hall. But in the last five minutes, the mostly young and inexperienced players of Emmer coach Jan Gerald Mulder made too many mistakes. The visitors from Overijssel took advantage of this and won 30-32.
Men can cheer
The men of the Oosting E&O/Hurry-Up combination team were able to cheer later in the evening. The team with players from Emmen and Zwartemeer started slowly and was behind for a while after Bevo’s second from Panningen. During the course of the first half, E&O/Hurry-Up started to get things in order and leveled at 12-12 two minutes before half-time.
Red in final seconds and penalty throw
The people of Emmen and Zwartemeer got a taste of it, including two goals from Sverre Jansen. As a result, both teams went to the changing rooms with a score of 15-12 in favor of E&O/Hurry-Up. In the second half the initiative was constantly with the men of de Emmer coach Martin de Hoop. They played the game expertly and ultimately deservedly won 31-29. The last goal came outside time due to a penalty throw used by BEVO 2, after a foul by Marek Skwarczynski was punished with red in the closing seconds
