Nieuwenhuis was clearly the best in the snow and led almost solo from start to finish. He eventually made it with a big lead of just over a minute over Niels Vandeputte and Joran Wyseure. For Nieuwenhuis it was the fourth victory of the season, the first ever in a World Cup cross. Michael Vanthourenhout finished fourth, ahead of World Cup leader Eli Iserbyt.

Iserbyt remains the leader in the World Cup standings and now has 208 points. Nieuwenhuis now follows second in the standings with 162 points, Laurens Sweeck is third with 134 points to his name.
