Vans launches a new platform for premium products.
The skate and sneaker brand is refocusing on its skateboarding roots with OTW by Vans, but with a higher quality touch, Vans announced on Wednesday. The new platform for outstanding products from the VF subsidiary will be managed by Ian Ginoza.
Another chapter closes with the launch of OTW by Vans. The Vault by Vans product line and platform, despite countless collaborations over the years, will be acquired in late 2023 to make way for OTW. In early 2024, OTW will then launch its own e-commerce platform and new products. The products will also be available from a select number of retail partners. The name itself, “OTW,” appears to be a nod to the brand’s origins and tagline, “Off the Wall.”
Two new product lines under OTW by Vans
The line of “outstanding” shoes and apparel, as Vans refers to the OTW by Vans offering, is divided into two product lines. OTW will be dedicated to collaborating with diverse partners to “push the boundaries of design expression”. There is also Premium Standard, a category that, as the name suggests, reinterprets Vans classics in an upscale collection.
Ginoza, who officially holds the title of VP, Advisor Creative Director Pinnacle, assembled the OTW design team that will “drive the development of Vans’ 50+ year legacy into the future.” The creative director himself has worked on collaborations and projects for brands such as Nike and Converse. According to his profile on the LinkedIn careers network, he most recently worked for Adidas for more than a year as Global Vice President Culture Marketing.
His talent for collaborations is already paying off at Vans, as the launch of OTW by Vans will be a collaboration with SR Studio LA. CA., artist Sterling Ruby’s clothing brand. The collection will be launched in early January, but has already been presented at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
