Vans appoints new global marketing director

Drieke Leenknegt has been appointed to the role of Global Chief Marketing Officer at Vans.

Vans announced last week that she will take on this task at the shoe supplier, which belongs to the US clothing group VF Corporation, on July 5. Leenknegt brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and communications.

Leenknegt is moving within the VF group, which in addition to Vans also includes The North Face, Dickies, Supreme and Timberland. She has been active as CMO at outdoor specialist Timberland for the past three years. Before that, she worked in various positions at the US sportswear company Nike for more than 20 years, most recently as Global Vice President, Influencer Marketing and Collaborations. In addition, almost five years ago she founded a consulting firm that deals with marketing and business models.
