Vandoorne loses lead to GP winner Mortara
Vandoorne did not get further than twentieth place in the qualifications earlier on Saturday. Portuguese Antonio Felix da Costa at DS Techeetah grabbed pole but was unable to convert it. Mortara took the GP victory ahead of Da Costa and New Zealander Mitch Evans. Vandoorne eventually had to settle for eighth place.
In the World Cup standings Vandoorne drops from first to third place, with 125 points. Mortara leads the pack with 139 points, Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne of DC Techeetah is second with 128 points. The eleventh and twelfth heat of the season (on sixteen) will follow on July 16 and 17 in New York.
