Vanderstorm Ventures secures blade brand Babista

Babista, a brand of the insolvent Klingel Group, has a new owner.

K – Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG, the group’s main company, is selling the men’s fashion brand Babista to the Vanderstorm Ventures group of companies, the Pforzheim-based mail-order group announced on Tuesday.

The takeover will take place after Vanderstorm Ventures prevailed in the M&A process under self-administration and the committee of creditors set up by the insolvency court in Karlsruhe unanimously approved the purchase agreement. The sales contract will become effective on November 1st.

As the new owner of the men’s brand, both Babista’s customer addresses and inventory are transferred to Vanderstorm Ventures. Babista will be the fourth brand in the Vanderstorm Ventures GmbH & Co. KG portfolio alongside Jan Vanderstorm, Charles Colby and Shirtmaster. The main focus of the Berlin company is “men’s fashion for large sizes” with a range that goes up to size 7 XL.

It was already clear that there could be hope for a future for some of the brands of the insolvent mail order group, despite the cessation of business operations by the Klingel Group. There are some interested parties who want to continue operating them under their own management from the beginning of 2024, it said last week from Pforzheim. With Babista, the first of the bell brands has now found a new owner.
