It was the Archbishop of Paris himself, Laurent Ulrich, who proposed replacing Notre-Dame’s original stained glass windows with more contemporary designs. Many French people don’t like that idea: more than 120,000 people signed a petition against the plan and call it ‘vandalistic’.
