Van Quickenborne retains support for Open VLD chairman Ongena
Ongena’s party member became further involved in a ‘peeing incident’ on Monday, in which he himself can now be seen on images from police cameras, a few hours after a number of the guests at his birthday party last month urinated against a police combi. Van Quickenborne had previously stated that he was not aware of the incident, but reports from VRT NWS cast doubt on that story.
“I still support him, because the facts as they now come across do not show that he is involved in the incident itself,” Ongena said on Monday evening during a chairman’s debate organized by VOKA.
“From the information I have at the moment, I know that he is not involved in the incident itself. I have the feeling that they are trying to find something that is not there,” said Ongena, who hopes that the actual perpetrators will be heavily being punished.
