Bus builder Van Hool has secured a new order for 112 battery buses for the Dutch transport company Qbuzz. The manufacturer from Koningshooikt (Lier) said this.
QBuzz will use the buses in the province of South Holland from December 15, 2024. “This new order from Qbuzz comes less than a year after a previous order of 54 units by this Dutch transport organization. Van Hool will therefore build 166 buses for Qbuzz,” the press release states.
Last week there was a commotion in our own country because De Lijn had ordered 92 buses from the Chinese bus builder BYD. De Lijn had previously awarded orders to, among others, the Flemish bus builders VDL and Van Hool, but also to the Italian Iveco.
Van Hool has more than 3,500 employees worldwide. Most work at the production facilities in Koningshooikt and Skopje in North Macedonia. Van Hool did not communicate financial details of the order.
