Van Gogh statue acquired for New Year’s Eve stunt, who came before him?

New Year’s Eve association Tied Zat from Zorgvlied also has memorable thefts on its record. For example, in 2007 they hijacked a monument in Putten, Gelderland. A boulder with an anchored ring is located there and is known as the center of gravity of the Netherlands. The stone is located in such a precise spot that a geologist and mathematician have calculated that no one would notice if you lifted our country by that stone.

Another find was the Silver Peace Pigeon on the Meerweg in Tynaarlo. When the statue was replaced, the association appealed in an accompanying letter to be more tolerant of refugees. “People, make 2016 a peaceful and tolerant year,” was the serious note in a playful action.

Tied Zat’s most recent campaign was not the most successful campaign. The disappearance of the Dragon of Norg received little attention: “The statue was actually not missed at all. Only the local news caught on because we put a sign at the place,” he said when the dragon was brought home in one piece.
