Van Gerwen continued another round at the World Darts Championship, Veenstra had no chance

Michael van Gerwen achieved a convincing victory over Richard Veenstra at the Darts World Cup. The three-time world champion did not lose a set in the third round at Alexandra Palace in London: the score was 4-0. Van Gerwen had already defeated the Irish Keane Barry 3-0 in the previous round.

Veenstra had hoped in advance to turn it into more of a real competition. The number 79 in the world had not lost a set until Wednesday, in the first round against New Zealander Ben Robb and in the second round against Belgian Kim Huybrechts.

No chance
But there was no equal battle against Van Gerwen. The number 2 on the placement list finished the match with a finish of 130. Van Gerwen recorded an average of 101.39 and he scored a 180’er eight times. Veenstra remained stuck at an average of 86.2.
