Van Gennip doesn’t think it’s right to stop labor migration: ‘The economy is largely dependent on it’

Minister Karien van Gennip (Social Affairs) suggests that unemployed French young people from problem neighborhoods in the Netherlands should work. Together with Spanish youth unemployed, they could work in the catering industry or in the greenhouses. The call for a stop to the arrival of labor migrants is not heeded by Van Gennip. “It will be difficult without them.”
