Virgil Van Dijk, Liverpool center back, will be out for more than a month, after injuring his hamstring in the last league game for the ‘Reds’. The Dutch centre-back had to retire at half-time in the 3-1 defeat against Brentford and, although at first it seemed that the injury was not serious, subsequent tests have determined that he will be out for several weeks.

With this diagnosis, Van Dijk will miss at least one game in the FA Cup and three in the Premier League. The uncertainty is whether the Dutch central defender will arrive in time to face Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 on February 21.
