‘VAM mountain should get a summer toboggan run’

A summer toboggan run is an artificial toboggan run without snow and ice. Schoenmaker thinks of a modern toboggan run with tubes as rails. The sled is a cart on the rails.

There are also toboggan runs that race down a metal half-pipe with a sled on wheels. They can also end up outside the track, but this is not possible with the system with rails because there is a safety device on the sleds that keeps them on the track.

The speed on such a summer toboggan run is around 40 kilometers per hour. That doesn’t seem hard, but the feeling of speed and gravity is often enhanced by sharp turns or descents.

A summer toboggan run cannot only be used in the summer. In the Dutch climate, such a track can be open all year round. So are many summer toboggan runs in Germany and Austria.
