Valtteri Bottas trained with the Aussie football team

In addition to cycling, Valtteri Bottas has also gotten to know Australian football.

Australian football is more of a contact sport than a ball sport. PDO

Immediately Valtteri Bottas and Tiffany Cromwell from the beginning of the relationship, it was clear that the Nastola resident would be taken, and hard – namely to ride a bike.

34-year-old Cromwell is a professional cyclist, and he has guided Bottas in the secrets of the sport. In December alone, Bottas drove more than 2,000 kilometers while visiting his girlfriend’s home country of Australia.

The couple’s home is located in Monaco, from where it would be a reasonably short distance to, for example, the legendary Col du Tourmalet mountain stage of the Tour de France.

– I’m not a climber by nature. If I were a professional cyclist, I would definitely be a sprinter, Bottas describes.

– That ball shirt (winner of the mäkikiri competition) would be quite difficult to achieve with my body composition. I’ve tried some of the climbs and sections of the Tour myself, but usually in the mountains I’m just challenging myself and at the same time getting out of traffic.

Valtteri Bottas does not think he has the same qualities as Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard. PDO

Bottas’ dream would be to one day ride an entire Tour stage from start to finish.

– That would be cool to try.

However, cycling is not the only sport that Bottas has been introduced to with the help of Cromwell. Last year, the Finn was able to train with the Melbourne-based Richmond Tigers Aussie football team.

– I got to know the rules a bit. And the players explained a little about the game. A tough physical sport, hats off to the guys. Sour stuff.
