Valentina Ferragni and basal cell carcinoma

In November 2021, the influencer showed himself for the first time on social media with a noticeable scar on his forehead: he had just removed what looked like a cyst but was instead a basal cell carcinoma. «A bad cancer localized to a specific area, not one of the most dangerous for health, but for the skin” he explained. Adding: “The doctors said it was the first time they had seen it on a person at the age of 28, usually on people in their 50s/60s and more, so it is quite rare at this age and the diagnosis was difficult.” For this reason, every year on the same day he launches an appeal for prevention via social media.

Life changed quickly

Valentina Ferragni compared the images of today and two years ago, telling the people of the web what happened when that «“pimple” that was under my skin for almost a year started changing a month before surgery. The doctors couldn’t tell what it was before the surgery, and discovered it was “Basal Cell Carcinoma,” a nasty skin cancer. Life has changed very quickly and now I pay attention to every little detail of my skineverything that could change and be something else” he wrote on Instagram.

No symptoms

The influencer also said he had not had any symptoms. «I thought it was a normal pimple under the skin that wouldn’t go away (I had it for about a year, but every now and then he would disappear for a period and then return so I didn’t give it much importance because it was very small)! Then, after the summer, it started bleeding out of nowhere and from that moment the doctors realized that something was wrong and removed it.”

Valentina Ferragni and her mission for two years

From that day on, the digital entrepreneur’s sister decided to tell and repeat her story also via social media: «My mission for two years has been to spread awareness about skin cancers, one of the most dangerous but underestimated». And there are many followers who, thanks to his testimony, have decided not to postpone the checks. “The same as me, the same diagnosis, it disappeared and appeared and thanks to your testimony I got to the bottom of it!” we read in a comment. «I think I too will have to undergo the same operation. I too had started as a pimple under my eye and I saw that it never went away, then remembering your story I went to be seen and they found an actinic keratosis which if I neglected it would become a basilioma of the skin (skin cancer )» another user commented.
