As expected, football world champion Shkodran Mustafi has reached the quarter-finals of the Spanish Cup with FC Valencia. On Thursday, Valencia won 3-0 (1-0) with Mustafi as central defender against first-division rivals FC Granada. After the 4-0 home win in the first leg of the round of 16, progress was sealed after the opening goal by Frenchman Wilfried Zahibo in the 42nd minute. Paco Alcacer (63′) and Pablo Piatti (83′) from penalties scored the other goals after the break. In the league, on the other hand, FC Valencia has been without a win for eight games.
