Defeating Fenerbahçe Opet 3-2 in the final of the AXA Sigorta Women’s Cup Volley, VakıfBank took the trophy to its museum for the 8th time.
In the championship match of the Final Four held in Ankara, VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe Opet faced off at the Başkent Volleyball Hall.
The match, played in front of fully-filled stands, was the scene of great contention. VakıfBank won the decision set 17-15, which determined the champion and was quite exciting, and won the cup by winning the match 3-2.
VakıfBank took this trophy to its museum in the 2021-2022 season after 1994-1995, 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2017-2018, 2020-2021.
VAKIFBANK WINS AGAIN
VakıfBank managed to defeat its opponent in the semi-finals of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship this season, in the final of the Cup Volley.
While these two teams faced each other in the semi-finals of the CEV Champions League a short time ago, VakıfBank won the first match 3-1, and although Fenerbahçe won the rematch 3-0, the yellow-blacks who won the gold set made their mark in the final.
