Vajont on La7: the film about the dam disaster, a true story

Vajont: the plot of the movie

The film of Renzo Martinelli tells one of the darkest pages of our country. Vajont tries to tell the story catastrophe through the massive use of special effectsi, the human drama and the search for truth entrusted to the voice of the journalist from L’Unità, Tina Merlin (Laura Morante). Merlin wrote several articles on the inconsistencies of geologists and designers predicting a possible franceto. She was tried on charges of disseminating false and biased news aimed at disturbing public order. With the help of the locals she was acquitted. After that catastrophe there was a trial, which lasted decades, which produced ridiculous sentences.

Vajont today and the special on Focus on 9 October

The dam of Vajont with its 264 meters it is the fifth highest in the world, in 1963 it was the highest of all.
