We don’t usually report on suicide. This is stipulated in the press code. There it says: “Reporting on suicide requires restraint. This applies in particular to the naming of names, the publication of photos and the description of more detailed accompanying circumstances.”
Exceptions must be justified if they are historical events or are of increased public interest.
We also avoid reports of suicides, as this could increase the copycat rate.
