Vaasan Sport strengthens – TPS signed an extension agreement

Janne Keränen returns to Vaasa and the cooperation between TPS and Tyler Steenbergen continues.

Finnish Hockey League Association Vaasan Sport informsthat attacker Janne Keränen returns to the eagle with a one-year contract.

Keränen played for the Vaasa club in the 2020–21 season. He played a total of 47 matches at that time and scored 15 + 8 = 23.

Keränen has league experience ahead of 773 regular season games and 98 playoffs. 404 (210 + 194) points have been created. He has also represented HIFK, Lukko and KalPaa in the League.

Last season, Keränen played in Dukla Michalovce, Slovakia. Points were awarded in 47 regular season matches 14 + 16 = 30.

Sports Sports Executive Markus Jämsä comments on the acquisition in a bulletin.

– Keränen was a player we wanted to continue last season in Sport, but his journey took us abroad for one season. Both parties were left with really good feelings from that previous piece and now an agreement was reached quite easily.

TPS, in turn, informs follow-up striker Tyler Steenbergen with. The cardboard lasts for a year.

Steenbergen, a 24-year-old Canadian, played his first season in Europe last season. Steenbergen scored 7 + 10 in 54 regular season matches in TPS’s shirt and 3 + 3 in 18 playoffs.
