Tom Geers (68) has been retired for a few years, but the former internist at St. Antonius Hospital now voluntarily holds consultations for Ukrainian war refugees in the Jaarbeurs reception center together with eight retired fellow doctors. “War trauma, raped women, drug addicts with AIDS, children with the flu: we get everything. We are very much needed now.”
