The Spanish Houston Rockets power forward Usman Garuba will be sidelined indefinitely with an ankle injurya new physical problem for a player who returned just five days ago after a two-month absence due to a wrist injury.
Garuba, 20, suffered a severe ankle sprain and his condition will be re-examined in about a week, Rockets coach Stephen Silas said ahead of the game against the Indiana Pacers. Although new controls are necessary, at this moment there is optimism about the possibilities of recovering Garuba before the end of the regular season.
Garuba, born in 2002, is playing his first season in the NBA and played 16 games this season, averaging seven minutes on the court, 1.4 points and 2.3 rebounds.
The Rockets occupy the last place in the Western Conference (17-52).
