Telstar has – just like last season – defeated Young PSV at De Herdgang sports park. A penalty from Christos Giousis and an assist on substitute Yael Liesdek were decisive: 0-2.
Compared to the match against Jong FC Utrecht, there was one change. Jonathan Mulder replaced the injured Thomas Oude Kotte. In addition to Oude Kotte, Koen Blommestijn was also missing with an injury. Telstar was supported by 33 supporters. They saw that the Eindhoven players were better in the opening phase.
Mohammed Amin Doudah had two big chances. First, Ronald Koeman Jr. rescue, on his second attempt the pole got in the way. Both times the White Lions got away well. David Min got the biggest chance on behalf of Telstar after 23 minutes. Jay Kruiver passed the ball tightly, but the striker found Jong PSV keeper Niek Schiks on his way five meters from the goal.

In the 68th minute, Delvechio Blackson tried to reach Min with a through ball. Min was knocked down in the penalty area, allowing Christos Giousis to aim from eleven meters. The Greek hit hard and celebrated the goal with the fans: 0-1. Telstar appeared to concede a penalty a few minutes later. Özgür Aktas held on to substitute August Priske Flyger, but the referee waved the protests away to the surprise of many.
Less than a minute later it was a big party for the Velsenaren. After a cross by Giousis, substitute Yael Liesdek shot the ball in: 0-2. Young PSV couldn’t break any more pots in the final phase, so Telstar took the three points to Velsen-Zuid.
With the win, Telstar moves up to thirteenth place with twelve points. Roda JC is next week’s opponent.
