Are you bored of the default font on WhatsApp? Then we have just the right tip for you. TECHBOOK reveals how to write messages in typewriter font.
Every day we type countless messages to our acquaintances and friends using the WhatsApp messenger service. Most simply in the regular WhatsApp font. There are also three alternatives that most people already know: italics, strikethrough and bold. But there is another WhatsApp font: the typewriter font. It reminds you of Scripture “Courier” in Microsoft Word and Co.
Would you like to get to know the different fonts on WhatsApp? Then take a look at our video:
This is what the typewriter font looks like
With a trendy retro look, this font looks like it was typewritten. A real eye-catcher for all your WhatsApp contacts! Admittedly, the difference to the standard font on WhatsApp isn’t that big, as the photo shows, but still.
How to write in typewriter font on WhatsApp
Actually, the altered font is quite simply typed, actually. For writing à la typewriter, you only need three French accents graves before and after the desired text area. Once the message is sent, the text appears in retro typeface.
Find the accent grave
There’s just one catch: the accent grave is very well hidden on our cell phones and is therefore not that easy to find. Caution! Because the accent grave must not be confused with the apostrophe. All iOS users select the second level using the button in WhatsApp in write mode “123”, go to the apostrophe and keep it pressed. On the far left is the accent grave. In order to use the character string more easily, it is best to save it in the keyboard settings under Text replacement. As a shortcut, simply select an otherwise unusual character string such as “ooo” to make the three grave accents appear.

On an Android device, the font works differently. Users also open via the button “123” the special characters, on the second page is the accent grave.
