WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) – In the United States, unemployment fell again in March. The unemployment rate fell compared to the previous month by 0.2 percentage points to 3.6 percent, as announced by the US Department of Labor on Friday in Washington. On average, analysts had only expected a decline to 3.7 percent.
Unemployment in the world’s largest economy had already fallen in February. The rate is therefore not far from the level of 3.5 percent that it had before the corona pandemic.
About six million people are currently unemployed, according to the ministry, compared to around 5.7 million before the pandemic./jkr/bgf/mis
