The World Anti-Doping Agency receives an outstanding partial US dollar contribution for the year 2021. This was announced by WADA.
The American National Drug Control Authority (ONDCP) had withheld almost half of the amount for the previous year of around 1.3 million dollars due to criticism of insufficient reforms by the World Agency and its dealings with Russia after the doping scandal was uncovered.
Overall, the USA supports WADA’s work with around $ 2.9 million. This makes the USA the main contributor to WADA.
“I welcome the decision to pay the second tranche of the annual fee for 2021 to WADA,” said WADA President Witold Banka. “This is a clear sign of the United States Government’s support for WADA’s global joint mission for doping-free sport.”
