The United States has called on the UN Security Council for tougher international sanctions against North Korea. The reason was the recent launch by North Korea of an intercontinental ballistic missile, the Hwasong-15. This missile is large enough to reach the US, for example. The last time North Korea fired such a missile was in 2017.
