Market value winner in 2021/22
Andrea Pinamonti (23) leaves Inter Milan for good. The striker is moving to league rivals US Sassuolo, who on Thursday made a loan and a purchase commitment for the coming year perfect. Pinamonti signed a contract until 2027. There is a transfer fee of 20 million euros, which is in line with the market value, making it the record purchase of Neroverdi. The attacker replaces his new team-mate Hamed Junior Traorè (22) a year after his move from FC Empoli to Sassuolo as a top transfer.
Meanwhile, Empoli was also Pinamonti’s last stop, where he was on loan for a season. The goalscorer played 37 games for the Azzurri, in which he contributed 13 goals and two assists. His market value jumped from €12m to €20m over the course of the season, making him one of the most valuable Italian centre-forwards. In the TM rumor mill, RB Leipzig was also associated with the right foot. Pinamonti was promoted to the first team at his training club Inter in January 2017, where he made 15 appearances with one goal before embarking on a loan odyssey. In September 2020, CFC Genoa signed him after a previous loan for €19.5m before Inter brought him back just a few weeks later for €21m. His contract with the Nerazzurri was originally valid until 2024.
Serie A: The most expensive additions in summer 2022
With the arrival of Pinamonti, it is increasingly likely that Giacomo Raspadori (22) will leave Neroverdi for SSC Napoli. A change should be close to completion. Italian reporters such as Gianluca Di Marzio and Alfredo Pedullà unanimously reported that a breakthrough could be achieved in the near future. “I hope that the Raspadori agreement is not far away. We would like to finish everything before the league starts – one way or the other,” said Sassuolo club boss Giovanni Carnevali recently.
