US: no more mandatory mouth masks on flights after judge’s ruling

Travelers flying within the United States no longer have to wear a face mask on the plane or at the airport. On Monday, a federal judge in Florida canceled the obligation to do so that the CDC health agency extended last week.

The CDC wanted to maintain the mouth mask obligation until at least May 3, but that obligation will now expire with immediate effect. In response to the judge’s decision, the Joe Biden government has announced that it will not continue the mask obligation. A White House spokesperson said the government still recommends wearing masks on airplanes and at airports.

United and Alaska airlines have immediately announced that travelers will no longer have to wear masks on their flights.
