WASHINGTON (Dow Jones) — US labor cost growth moderated slightly in the third quarter, as expected. According to the US Department of Labor, labor costs rose 1.2 percent quarter-on-quarter after rising 1.3 percent in the second quarter. Economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast growth of 1.2 percent. Year-on-year, labor costs were 5.0 percent higher in the third quarter.
Wages and salaries of US workers rose by 1.3 (1.4) percent between July and September, bonuses and other payments increased by 1.0 (1.2) percent.
