The US Department of Justice has last week sent out 40 subpoenas in the case surrounding the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, The New York Times reports. According to the newspaper, this is a major escalation of the investigation. It is separate from the investigation for which the FBI conducted a search of Trump’s Florida home this summer.
