In the United States, the number of homeless people has risen by 12 percent in one year to a new record. In January 2023, the country had 653,104 homeless people. That was 70,650 more homeless people than a year earlier, according to figures from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development on Friday. The opiate crisis and the shortage of affordable housing, among other things, are the basis for this deterioration.
