The United States will freeze hundreds of billions of dollars in assets held by Russian banks in the US over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Joe Biden announced Thursday evening. It will also become more difficult for Russian companies and residents to do business in foreign currencies, such as the dollar and the Japanese yen.
