US fans shocked by Australian ‘Eras’ tour rule — Music Rolling Stone

On Sunday, February 25th, Taylor Swift gave the final Australian concert of her “Eras” tour in Sydney – in a few days she will be heading to Singapore. The Aussie Swifties have also uploaded countless pictures and videos of the gigs on social media in the past few days, where American fans noticed one thing in particular – those attending the shows didn’t seem to be required to carry clear bags.

“It’s so normal for us, but so unusual for other parts of the world”

This was observed, among other things, by TikToker Molly Halter, who drew attention to this in a clip and asked if others had found the same thing. When she asked, she received countless comments from Taylor Swift’s US fans who were shocked at how relaxed bag checks are in other countries. “The way that statement just hit me. Damned! “You don’t have to live like that in other parts of the world,” one user reported, to which Halter replied: “It’s so normal for us, but soooo unusual for other parts of the world.”

Another user also joined in the conversation and wrote: “Because they have no problems with guns.” However, this swipe was not particularly well received by some US citizens who wanted a discussion about general gun control and the need for it this started. Some Australians, however, said that they were not even aware that transparent bags were required for concerts in the USA.

One user wrote: “I’m Australian and I never understood why until now [die Amerikaner:innen] all need clear bags. I thought it was so that no one could smuggle food or drink in.” Given the comments, only a few people knew that this was a preventative measure to prevent the taking of weapons.

For the US fans, the bag instruction is normal. An American woman wrote on social media: “Everything. Single. Just. When I see a clip from an international show I just think, ‘Not a single one of them was worried about getting shot in the crowd today’.”
