The United States on Friday called at the UN Security Council for tougher international sanctions against North Korea. The reason for the call was the recent launch by North Korea of an intercontinental ballistic missile large enough to reach the US, for example. However, North Korean allies China and Russia have resisted tightening UN sanctions.
