US bonds start with slight price gains

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – US government bonds started trading on Wednesday with price gains. Market observers spoke of a slight countermovement in trading with little momentum. The futures contract for ten-year bonds (T-Note Future) rose by 0.07 percent to 109.70 points. Over the ten-year term, the return was 4.31 percent.

Compared to the previous day, price movements on the US bond market were limited. On Tuesday, an unexpectedly weak decline in inflation in the US put a damper on interest rate cut expectations and triggered a sharp rise in yields.

Trading is expected to continue to be rather weak over the course of the day. There are no important US economic data on the agenda that investors could use as a guide.
