Upper Bavaria has the greatest purchasing power potential for fashion

On Tuesday, the market research institute GfK presented a current ranking of the purchasing power potential for various product groups in all German urban and rural districts. By evaluating data on purchasing behavior, GfK determined “the average available spending potential at the consumer’s place of residence” as part of its study. The market researchers differentiated between purchases in stationary retail and online orders.

The highest values for the clothing category in 2022 were therefore achieved in Upper Bavaria. The ranking of per capita purchasing power in stationary retail is led by the urban district of Munich, in which the residents had an average of 322 euros available for clothing. The district of Starnberg took second place with 315 euros, the leading trio was completed by the district of Munich with 305 euros.
