iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 owners should make sure the device is updated.
Apple has released IOS 12.5.6 updatewhich patches three serious vulnerabilities that were already patched in the IOS 15.6.1 update.
IOS 12 received the last update before the fresh update in September 2021. This is a rather rare update for older devices.
The vulnerability allowed attackers to execute code on an iPhone while it was using Safari or another browser. According to Apple, the vulnerability may have been actively exploited.
You cannot get an operating system newer than IOS 12 for iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phones. Therefore, it is important that owners of these phones download the update to their device as soon as possible.
You can do the update like this:
- Open Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Software Update.
