In statements to Profile, Lemoine defended his statements about Fernández. “It is important to clarify that we do not have trolls, we do not hire people to carry out dirty campaigns, they were members of the libertarian party learning to defend themselves on social networks and how to exploit the networks for military purposes, but in a positive sense, not destroying people… as they usually do with me”, explained Lemoine who also minimized the impact of his statements, and said that it was only “a politically incorrect comment”. For her part, Ofelia Fernández also used humor to reply to Lemoine for her statements in the video. “Why would the tank be Australian? Both me and some good croissants are ARGENTINIAN, old man!” She began by saying. “I love that they do CLASSES to tweet on,” she went on to say in another post. “The next one is to learn to button up a shirt,” added the Kirchnerist legislator.

On Twitter, Maslatón also expressed solidarity with Ofelia Fernández. “Ofelia, I totally repudiate this aggression. The anti-democratic and fascist attack that is being attempted against you is unfortunate. Liberals respect the adversary, we never defame in this ridiculous way,” he commented on the legislator’s account.
