Jay Gorter seems to be loaned to the Scottish Aberdeen FC until the end of the season. ESPN and De Telegraaf report this, among others. According to the newspaper, his contract will be extended by one year at Ajax until 2026.
The 22-year-old Purmerender was preferred by former coach Alfred Schreuder in the Johan Cruijff Scale against PSV. Gorter made several mistakes, after which Remko Pasveer was given preference. Gorter then played no more matches at Ajax.
Gerónimo Rulli was brought in during the winter break, which reduced Gorter’s chances even more. Aberdeen are seventh in the Scottish Premiership. Gorter came over from Go Ahead Eagles in the summer of 2021 and was never undisputed in Amsterdam.
