Today, Saturday 4 November 2023, in Italy the National Unity and Forces Day is celebrated, the celebratory day established to commemorate the end of the First World War with the entry into force of the armistice of Villa Giusti, signed on 3 November 1918, which sanctioned the surrender of ‘Austro-Hungarian Empire to Italy armies. This morning the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella opened the celebrations with the traditional ceremony at the Altare della Patria and the deposition of a laurel wreath at the Shrine of the Unknown Soldier.
