-THE INDUSTRY CELEBRATES ITS FIRST BIG MEETING OF 2022

31 May and 01 June 2022: The two days of the unitex Fashion Festival at the Ulm Exhibition Center were characterized by a good mood, countless discussions, outstanding key notes, highly satisfied exhibitors, enthusiastic visitors and a boisterous after-business party.

“Good atmosphere, nice people, exchange among each other, personal communication, good vibes” is the short but extremely satisfied conclusion of Gerhard Albrecht, Managing Director of unitex GmbH. Daniel Schmidt, Sales Director at s.Oliver, can only agree: “Very, very good network with the individual partners. You can have a lot of conversations in a short time.”

The networking aspect was a top priority when planning the unitex Fashion Festival: “So many events have had to be canceled lately – the industry is longing to finally meet again,” says Gerhard Alberecht, explaining the idea of the festival. How right he was can be seen not only from the many visitors, but also from the large number of exhibitors: 800 retailers and 80 brands from the fashion and service sectors filled two exhibition halls with spacious modern stands and the outdoor area with a beach bar and pool.

“With the unitex FashionFestival 2022, we have set up the first major physical event in the fashion industry in the DACH region in over two and a half years,” says Xaver Albrecht, head of the Marketing and Digitization department at unitex. A piece of hard work that paid off: The keynote by bestselling author Maike van den Boom was just as popular as the lecture by futurologist Prof. Dr. Ulrich Reinhardt. Daniel Schmidt was also enthusiastic about the modern concept of the so-called fashion walks: “I think it’s good that they also walk through the halls”, with the exhibitors’ outfits past the exhibitors’ stands.

The who’s who of the fashion industry talked shop about the hottest issues in the entire fashion business: supply chains, e-commerce, RFID, inflation, human resources, security. Nevertheless, there was not a bad mood for a second – on the contrary. “I met people again today that I haven’t seen in over 20 years. And that is also the reason why people always look forward to an event like this,” says Carsten Walberg from Christian Beutin Mode.

The absolute highlight was the party evening on Tuesday. First, Tim Bendzko entertained the enthusiastic audience at the private concert with charm, wit and the usual perfect performance. Afterwards, DJane 2Elements rocked the exhibition halls late into the night – supported by the rousing saxophonist Melanie Piontek.

We are looking forward to next year!
