United We Can will vote against expanding the number of US destroyers in Rota from four to six. The decision is already made. Just a few days after the NATO summit in Madrid ended, the purples are clear that they will vote ‘no’ when the Government takes to Congress the modification of the cooperation agreement with the United States that Pedro Sánchez and Joe Biden agreed during a meeting in Moncloa last week.
Just on the day that the General Secretary of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights, Ione Belarra, has affirmed that “Spain is not at war”, the parliamentary group of United We Can-En Comú Podem-Galicia in Common has leaned towards reject the pact reached between the president of the Spanish Government and the United States. Until now, the purples had been cautious, showing their discomfort at the idea of increasing the number of destroyers in the Rota base by two, but without revealing what their vote would mean.
