United Colors of Benetton gets new creative director with Andrea Incontri

United Colors of Benetton has a new creative director. Italian Andrea Incontri will be responsible for the brand’s women’s, men’s and children’s collections with immediate effect.

The first collection to be designed by Incontri is the Spring-Summer 2023 collection. An advertising campaign, artistically directed by Incontri, will be available as early as August. She is showing the fall-winter 2022 collection.

Incontri runs his own fashion label of the same name and was also creative director for the shoe label Tod’s for a time. He knows how to “create a dialogue between creativity and the market”, as stated in the United Colors of Benetton statement. Benetton Group CEO Massimo Renon says he is “proud” that Incontri is joining the fashion brand.

Incontri himself feels “honoured” to join Benetton, he says. “The history [der Marke] is of great importance for my personal and professional development and for the history of Italy as a whole”.

Benetton was founded in 1965. Over the years, the brand presented several controversial advertising campaigns that denounced social issues, in addition to the predominantly colourful, classic-sporty clothing collections.
