Unitas loses with a point difference, ladies E&O draw

HANDBALL – In the First Division, Unitas failed to win at home. The team of Henk Jan Ottens lost in an exciting match 27-28 against Handbal Houten. There was also no success in the First Division with the women. E&O drew 24-24 with a visit to VZV from ‘t Veld.

Unitas has been dangling at the bottom of the middle bracket in the rankings for some time now. Beforehand, Handbal Houten, which is fifth in the Eerste Divisie, was a team against which a good result could be achieved. Unitas also had a view of victory for a long time, but the people of Rolden just fell short in the final phase. As a result, they remain in 11th place. Next week they will visit the Beekse Fusieclub, which, like Unitas, has collected 18 points this season.

A trip to ‘t Veld in North Holland was on the agenda for the ladies from E&O. Home team VZV is 14th and is still fighting against relegation. With a victory for the Emmenaren, a considerable gap could be made to the lower regions of the ranking. The 24-24 draw will therefore be experienced as disappointing by the team of coach Jan Gerald Mulder.

E&O doesn’t make much headway with the draw. It remains in 11th place in the First Division. Next week they will play against the Tukkers from Albergen, which is one place lower in the ranking.
