Unique in Belgium: Practicing speleo techniques up to 40 meters high in an old water tower
They can now practice rope and climbing techniques that you can normally only do in caves and caverns.
“It is unique. Nowhere in Belgium do you have such a wall where you can practice those caving techniques. You can go up to 35 to 40 meters high. Most of those clubs are active in sports halls where the height goes up to 17 meters”, it sounds.
Ostend, together with the Flemish government, has invested one and a half million euros in the restoration and furnishing of the caving towers.
