You set yourself up! Union defended the top of the table with the 2-0 win against Wolfsburg and after 14 games without defeat they are already five (!) points ahead of Bayern.

The goals for the top of the table: A Becker cross ennobles Jordan with a header – 1:0 (55th). Jordan had already narrowly missed twice (47th/49th). Becker makes it 2-0 (77th) after a Seguin dream pass.

The most beautiful Union message: Timo Baumgartl (26) celebrates his comeback after his testicular cancer. 152 days after his last game in the DFB Cup semifinals at RB Leipzig (1: 2), he starts in the back three. In Cologne, the native Swabian was already in the squad.

Trainer Urs Fischer (56) at DAZN: “I told him that yesterday and asked if he felt ready. It’s just time to throw him in. It is also important to see how far he is.”

The big question before the game: where is Max Kruse (34)?

Wolfsburg’s striker, who was suspended by coach Niko Kovac (50), missed his return to his former club. Kruse, who lives less than 25 minutes by car from the Alte Försterei, showed up two days earlier at the European Championship semi-final defeat of the German basketball players. Talks about an early termination of the contract are to take place next week.

The Union fans sneer: “Without Kruse you have no chance!” Wolfsburg is penultimate with only five goals. Niko Kovac has to turn things around after the international break. Otherwise it will be tight for him too.
