Finally a really glamorous gala!
After three live cancellations due to Corona, Berlin celebrated its athletes of the year at the Hotel Estrel on Saturday evening in front of 1400 guests from sports, politics and business.
The 2022 champions are European sprint champion Gina Lückenkemper (26) and cyclist Simon Geschke (36).
1. FC Union Berlin celebrated the “triple double”. For the third time in a row, the Berliners voted the Bundesliga footballers Team of the Year and coach Urs Fischer (56) Coach of the Year.
Four very special Berliners with very unusual careers were celebrated just as euphorically as the winners: Canoeist Marcus Groß (33), hockey star Martin Häner (34), water jumping legend Patrick Hausding (33) and canoe champion Ronald Rauhe (41 ) say goodbye.
Unbelievable: The four sports idols have won a total of 127 Olympic, World Cup and European Championship medals. Ronny Rauhe alone won 55 medals and took part in six Olympic Games.
