It has been clear for weeks that Sheraldo Becke will almost certainly leave Union Berlin in 2024. It was questionable whether the Köpenick team would collect a transfer fee for their most valuable player whose contract was expiring in the winter or whether it would result in a free exit in the summer. After FC Villarreal initially tried to get the 28-year-old attacker, Real Sociedad now seems to have taken pole position. The daily newspaper “ASAccording to him, there is even an agreement with the player about a move in January and the contract has been negotiated. For Union, the immediate departure of Becker, who was no longer in the squad under new coach Nenad Bjelica, means important income. After 140 games with 50 goals, Becker is one of the most loyal players in the current squad. Only captain Christopher Trimmel (36) and substitute keeper Jakob Busk (30) were in the Köpenick squad alongside the attacker in all five Bundesliga seasons. With his market value of 12 million euros, he is one of the most valuable Bundesliga professionals with a contract expiring in 2024.
